The Cleveland Chapter of getWITit is beyond excited to host our 3rd annual WITCON (Women in Technology Conference) both in-person and virtually on October 18th at Case Western University’s Tinkham Veale University Student Center.

The conference features career, leadership, technical, and innovation topics to an audience of people in person* and virtually ranging from software delivery roles, leadership & management, technical & engineering, and recruiting/sales roles supporting the industry. This event celebrates the contributions that women have made to computing while focusing on how we can improve the opportunities for women to contribute to the next era of innovation.

We encourage you to be part of the conversation by sending a group of women in technical roles from your company to this uplifting, motivational, and educational conference. * In person ticket sales will be limited to 200 people *

IN PERSON CONFERENCE EXPERIENCE:

The $120 ticket grants you a full day of a Keynote Speaker, various speakers and sessions, lunch  and networking opportunities with industry professionals.

VIRTUAL CONFERENCE EXPERIENCE:

Participate at your own comfort level. Ticket costs for the virtual WITcon experience are $30 each. This will grant you virtual access to a full day of keynotes, sessions, and more with the convenience of our easy-to-use online conference platform, Whova. 

Speaking at WITcon 2021

The next WITcon presenter is…YOU! 

We are looking for 30 – 90 minute presentations on a variety of tech topics. Anyone can submit a talk, from first-timers to experienced conference speakers. Speakers  will be vetted and selected by getWITit Cleveland volunteers. Example topics:

Ivy Chin

Ivy Chin is the Senior Vice President, Chief Digital and Technology Officer at the Sherwin-Williams Company. Ivy joined Sherwin-Williams in 2020 to accelerate digital and technology transformation. Shebrings outstanding experience and expertise to this position. She most recently served as EVP, Chief Digital and Technology Officer at American Tire Distributors (ATD). In this role, Ivy focused on unifying ATD’s technology and digital ecosystems, including B2B, B2C, and B2B2C platform. Ivy and her team were focused on delivering a digitally enabled associate and customer experience.

Ivy has an extensive retail digital background – she previously served as Senior Vice President, Digital at PetSmart Inc. Prior to that role, she served as Senior Vice President of eCommerce for Belk Inc. for nearly seven years. Prior to her time at Belk, she served 14 years in various eCommerce and IT roles at QVC and spent 3 years in IT role at CertainTeed Corporation.

Ivy is a current board member of REI, an American retail and outdoor recreation services corporation; and previously board member for Apparo, Leadership Charlotte, Central Piedmont Community College Foundation, Classroom Central, and Women in Retail Leadership Circle.

Ivy’s honors include Charlotte CIO of the Year ORBIE Award Global Finalist, National Diversity Council’s “Most Powerful Women in Tech,” Chain Store Age magazine’s “Top 10 Women in Retail Tech,” Charlotte Business Journal’s “Women in Business” and Drexel University’s “Alumni Circle of Distinction Award.” She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Drexel University.

The headlines of what women fought for 100 years ago was their ‘right to vote’. What they were really fighting for was their ‘right to voice’. A right to voice their opinion, to voice their thoughts, and to voice their influence on the future. 

It is no different today in a business context. We need more voices at the table. We need to be purposeful in taking more perspectives into account. We need to work harder on how to help amplify the voices of others.

*getWITit is a community-based organization. In past years, each chapter has held an in-person conference in their local community. Given the challenges we’ve all faced together in 2020, and current guidelines cautioning against large gatherings, our getWITit chapters have decided to collaborate on a single virtual conference this year. We look forward to seeing you all in person next year as we get back to local conferences.
